The Journey Called Life

{August 3, 2008}   Procrastinating…Again…

More often than not, I catch myself procrastinating. Yep. I am a great procrastinator. You would think I have plenty of things to do, but usually once they are all there piling up…and no one is pressuring me to finish them all up, all I do is stop working altogether and start playing. I usually like to surf the net for anything and everything that would hit my mind. Reading books also serve as my tool for procrastination.

You would think I would be very stressed with piles of work, but you see…I rather deal with it by altogether not working on the things that cause my stress.

Maybe I’m just a little bored…noo…I am very, very, very bored with my life!

Oh when? when will someone take me for a trip around the world???

It’s 4 PM here in the Philippines and it sure is rainy. No surprises. It’s August and we are a favorite country for typhoons. I have to move my butt and go on to Las Pinas now. My boyfriend is waiting for me since yesterday and our little baby Pogs …son of my friends — i miss miss a lot!!! ciao! till another post

I want to travel abroad and I figured the best and less costly way to achieve this is by applying as an Au Pair Girl. I know two of my high school friends who have worked as an Au Pair. Techie stayed in Norway as Au Pair. Charo became an Au Pair first in Holland, then in Denmark and now she’s in Norway.

According to these two being an Au Pair is great because it gives you the opportunity to travel to places, immerse in the culture of the country where you will be staying because, essentially, you will be treated as part of the family, learn the country’s language, and even study some minor courses you are interested in.

The families from Western European countries are topmost in encouraging Au Pairs from all over the world. They either like to get the help of the Au Pair for light household chores and taking care of the children. The Americans also entertain Au Pairs.

I have researched quite a lot about this thing and I am hooked in finding a host family!

I have registerd myself at the AuPairconnect.com and sunnyaupairs.com. And I have already been contacted by a couple. Though the other one. Mr. Erik of Netherlands who added me in Yahoo Messenger said that he will get back to me after he bought groceries and he didn’t! Guess he does not like the fact that I have a boyfriend.

But I have to be honest! Oh well…I just have to continue my search, that’s it.

I hope someone takes me ….

Lala in a Purple Blouse

Lala in a Purple Blouse

Kumusta!

I am Lala, a 29 year old and single web writer and optimizer and this is my new blog. I have previous blogs in friendster, blogger and multiply before but my posts there are random, very garden variety-ish and very self-centered, if y’ know what i mean. I never progressed writing consistently on them.

I want to start a new chapter in my life with another blog and see where it would take me. This blog will be a recorder of my thoughts, opinions, rants, raves, adventures and misadventures. In a way, I also like to keep this blog a recorder of my steps to fulfill my great, great wish – and that is to travel abroad. In the meantime, it will also serve as a recorder of my travels here in my country – places, foods, friends.

I am employed with Apt IT Solutions, an IT and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Services company. We are all homebased workers and see each other through monthly get-togethers and rare meetings. I may or may not write about the details of my work here. I think time after time I may input things about my work.

Oh, and I also do freelance writing stuff. I can write web articles, press release, blog articles, landing page articles and website content.

For past times, I mostly daydream, sleep, travel (both physically and mentally) read books and…read books.

I like travelling very much! I love cats. I am obsessed with chocolates and anything chocolate flavored. I like stargazing though I never get around to doing it here in Manila. There are just very little stars in the Manila skies…hmmm.

Have I got that all covered?

So let’s get down to the essentials – i am a prodigal daughter of great parents papa vic and mama olive, i am the eldest sister of 2 sisters – che and carina and 2 brothers – clems and buboy, i am a spoiled gf of my kamahalan, my bestfriends are maricel, rey, joan and rammel, and i have lots and lots of great buddies from elementary school up to now at work.

that pretty much covers everything. hit the comment button to ask for more. okay, till the next post!

ingat lagi!
